History
I worked in a hospital for 12 years from 1986 to 1998, and after seeing and talking to so many people who were unwell as a result of incorrect exercise, movement and diet patterns I decided to try to do something to help them. As a keen sportsman I also witnessed many needless injuries due to failure to warm up properly and a lack of strength at extremes of joint mobility, and I started to train towards educating people on proper exercise methods and practices.

Training
In 1995 I completed my Diploma in Sports Therapy and started advising clients. A qualified aromatherapist, reflexologist, remedial and sports massage therapist and reiki practitioner, I have also been a Tai Chi teacher and have studied Chinese medicine for 5 years. I believe that the best results for long term increases in sports performance are a combination of great mental focus, drive and commitment to training with a balanced system of sport specific exercise and proper nutrition, and that a person can return to the same state of fitness prior to injury and often move up a level by making small changes to their training patterns.

Future Goals
In an ideal world children will be trained to exercise properly by their sports teachers at school or by their parents at home, and many of the injuries that are common place today may be avoided in the future. In the meantime I am rewarded seeing clients making progress, however great or small, towards a better level of fitness.
